Kim Jong-il 'suffering from pancreatic cancer'
The South Korean media is claiming today that North Korean President Kim Jong-il is suffering from pancreatic cancer.
The reports say the 67-year-old was diagnosed with the illness around the same time he suffered a stroke last summer.
North Korea has not confirmed that Kim suffered a stroke, but he disappeared from public view last summer and has only reappeared earlier this year looking extremely gaunt and frail.
His health has been the centre of intense media speculation due to concerns about a power struggle if he were to die without naming a successor.
