Police Report: Elgin man faces drug charge

• Unlawful possession of a controlled substance: Julio Zarate, 25, of the 500 block of Cleveland Avenue was arrested at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday for alleged possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, after a traffic stop at State and Standish streets, police said. An undercover officer pulled over Zarate's vehicle, searched the vehicle and found 4.3 grams of cocaine, police said. The officer then drove Zarate to his home, where he found 43 grams of cocaine in Zarate's bedroom, according to police. Charges include unlawful possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, a Class X felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class 1 felony; and driving with license revoked, a Class A misdemeanor. Bail was set at $250,000, with a court date of July 14 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

• DUI arrest: Joshua Bottiglier, 25, of 1119 Pine Valley Court was charged with driving under the influence after police stopped his vehicle at McLean Boulevard near Wing Street early Wednesday morning. Police said Bottiglier had a blood-alcohol concentration of .183.
